Nostalgic Smells And Tastes.....

What smells or tastes takes you back to your childhood? I love the smell of fire, wood burning. Or after a spell of hot weather, the smell of the dust after a recent down pour. When I think of some tv programmes I watched as a kid, I can taste the food I must have eat while watching it. Like its a knockout, can't put my finger on it but when I think of it, I taste either semolina or rice pudding with nutmeg lol. Sounds weird eh lol. What about you, what smells or tastes take you back to your childhood?

the smell of shit and diesel, our house backed onto the local sewage works aswell as the trainlines, in the summer the smell was unbelievably bad, you could even taste it all year you could smell the diesel from the trains

That reminds me of another smell, the smell of the brewery's at the barras in glesgae

The distillery at Cameron Brig. The heat and the smell when I was wee when ma mum brought the pile of clothes out the tumble dryer and chucked them on me on the couch.

Petrol and tar, Definately petrol, I could buzz the stuff lol. Was a bit of a petrol head with motorbikes and gokarts when I was younger.
